In 2006, I started a blog called The Rotund. The name was a little inside joke on the U.S. Capitol Rotunda - because my blog was about body politics. For years, I wrote about fatness and bodies and social justice, before Kate Harding and I wrote a book together. That book came out in 2009 and was called Lessons From the Fat-o-sphere: Quit Dieting and Declare a Truce with Your Body.

Between then and now, I've written for a lot of other outlets. I've done a lot of radio and television, too. But I've always wanted to return to my blogging roots, because there's nothing quite like the freedom to write on your own site, to share things with commenters in a space you've designed. After a pretty catastrophic loss of my old blog materials, I'm ready to start again. And I'd really appreciate it if you were there with me as I talk about fat and also fiction, writing and the way we tell stories.

When my Patreon reaches $50 in pledges, I'll be thrilled to spend a half hour in a Google Hangout with any patron who'd like to participate. I'm making myself available for a Q&A so we can get together and hash out what's bugging you about fat acceptance issues right now. Or, you know, any other questions you might have.
