A New Video Series!
$400 per month
In addition to Feminist Fridays, I would love to be able to do more fun series in relation to feminism (for example: media specific videos, like feminist television/book/movie/music reviews, or a series about bad ass ladies in history). Your feedback and suggestions are very important to me and my patrons would get first say in the direction of this series!
New Camera
$600 per month
I have been itching for a new camera for ages since my current camera doesn't have a port for an external mic, which makes syncing up audio and video incredibly difficult. A new camera would be a huge improvement both audio and video-wise.

Give me money so I can take over the world. Don't ask questions.

But seriously, here's the deal.
I'm a 21 year old college student paying for tuition, rent, insurance, food, and various other expenses. I run a weekly/bi-weekly webseries called Feminist Fridays, as well as make video content for the online magazine Everyday Feminism. I am extremely passionate about social justice issues and put a lot of time and effort into creating engaging educational content to raise awareness and promote social change. However, passion alone doesn't pay the bills, and with YouTube's current monetary system that relies on ad revenue, I barely make enough to afford groceries every month.

It's important to me that videos remain free and accessible to everyone so the option to pledge money for my content would be completely voluntary. A lot of people refer to Patreon as a tip jar which I think is a nice way to think about it. If you believe I'm doing a good job and enjoy the stuff I'm making and can afford to do so, it would mean the world to me if you became a patron. And if not, I'll hate you forever. Just kidding.

I'm going to try and make the perks for becoming a patron worthwhile to you, but also relevant to my channel. If there is a perk you'd like to suggest, please let me know. I'm very easy to contact over Twitter or Tumblr.

What are the goals of this Patreon?
  • More frequent content! Not just more regular Feminist Fridays video, but would include "laid back" videos, like vlogs, update videos, Q&A's, etc.
  • Greater creator/viewer transparency and interaction
  • Spin-off series focusing on a more specific theme
  • Better equipment
  • Merchandise? Who knows!
