My name is Mark Maya, I'm a photographer from Durham, North Carolina, and I've been on YouTube and Instagram for over 5 years sharing my lifestyle as a photographer, teacher, and artist. I cover everything from tutorials and tips about shooting double exposures, wellness hacks for artists, experimental lighting techniques, personal projects I'm working on, stories from my travels and more.

I also have a podcast, Artist Talks with Mark Maya, where I sit down with other photographers and have conversations about what inspires, challenges and drives their photography and process. Guests include Sam Hurd, Jacob Loafman, Twyla Jones, Sara Byrne, Ryan Muirhead, Dylan Howell, and more. You can watch and listen here!

You can also see my work, philosophy on photography, and my beautiful family on my Instagram posts and stories. You can see my Instagram here!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my Patreon page. Please consider becoming a patron and joining the community.

What is this?

After 6 years of creating on social media, I've created a simple platform for my dedicated fans to experience my photography, travels, teachings in an exclusive format apart from the distractions of Facebook and Instagram...because god knows we could use less of those time-wasting platforms.

What does it mean to be my Patron?

This isn't my first Patreon rodeo.  I was an active Patreon user and content creator, a few years ago before it became what it is today.  I've also studied online communities, their benefits and how to provide members with meaningful, engaging experiences that don't feel so salesy.  That's my goal here, to create content that inspires you and makes you feel something. Whether it's photography, a lesson I've learned through life experience, or my travels, I want you to be a part of my journey.

Why pay me $1 a month?

If you're considering paying me $1 a month to be my Patron then you've probably already been "paying" me with your likes, comments, messages, and attention. You probably don't feel like you've been paying me (and neither do I, frankly) which is why I'm shifting my thinking towards making awesome things that you (my fans) love. Instead of your money going to ad tech companies who want to monetize your attention span, you now have a direct connection to me, my livelihood, and my life, without all the crazy distractions of Facebook and Instagram.
