With the OpenForge project, I've created hundreds of 3D-printable tiles usable for tabletop gaming since 2013. These tiles allow gamemasters and war-gamers to create a nearly limitless number of scenarios. They are modular and compatible with a wide variety of tiles produced by several companies and individual makers. I create these tiles for my games and yours.

The tiles are 3D printable on your personal machine, and via Shapeways and many other 3D-printing services. The designs are free on Thingiverse.  I release them under a permissive Creative Commons license that allows you to remix, release, share or even sell these tiles.

With your help, I'll update the tiles to allow them to interlock so you can create more stable gaming surfaces, as well as multi-story buildings. I plan to deliver a variety of new sets, including:
  • Cut stone tiles
  • Tudor tiles for cityscapes
  • City street/alley tiles
  • Mine tiles, including minecarts and tracks
  • Rustic wooden tiles for rural buildings, and for surface mine buildings
  • Castle tiles, including a working portcullis
  • Accessory tiles such as doors, windows, arrow slits, broken and ruined tiles, stairs, bridges, etc
  • Docks tiles
  • Boats for sea faring games
  • OpenLOCK tiles
  • Tiles I design based on your votes

Be sure to limit your reward to how many times per month you want to pay. I want to release tiles often, and I want people to be delighted with each release instead of worried about the cost.

OpenLOCK

OpenForge has added a set of OpenLOCK compatible tiles, and plans to continue to release OpenLOCK versions of our tiles.  You can find out more about OpenLOCK at Printable Scenery.  Our usage in this campaign is covered by the generous grant of a license from Printable Scenery.

You will gain access on the Masterwork Tools backer site to create ideas to be voted on by other patrons.

You will get access to all of the parts and pieces I use to make the tiles. My tile designs are built up from components that I design to work with one another and to make building new remixes easy. If you want to customize your own tiles, support me at this level and you will get access to everything I use to build the tiles.

Be sure to limit your reward to how many times per month you want to pay. I want to release tiles often, and want people to be delighted with each release instead of concerned about how much it's costing them.  If you support at this tier, but enable at least $2 total per month, you will gain the benefits of the $2 tier.

Everything above, plus you will be able to vote on tiles, accessories and ideas at the masterwork tools backer site.  I shape my roadmap based on the top voted items, with a few surprises here and there.
