I'm Max L. Feldman, a writer, art critic, and educator based in Vienna, Austria. That might sound glamorous, but the truth is that it can be hard going. Sometimes it takes the magazines I write for a long time to process invoices, so there are lean months and fat months, so I've joined Patreon to share my work and ideas with as many people as possible.

My writing has appeared in some of the most respected art publications in the world (including ArtAgenda, ArtForum, FlashArt, Frieze, and Mousse), I've taught Philosophy at a few universities, which most twentysomethings don't usually get to do, and I'm now starting to publish philosophical and political writing for journals like Krisis, Public Seminar, and Verso.

In 2019, I will be embarking on a new extended writing project, which I will tell you all about once it gets going.

You can, in the meantime, find all my published writing on my website.

I want to continue doing this for as long as humanly possible. If you become a Patron, you'll be able to see what I'm working on as it happens, receiving exclusive notes, drafts, and possibly videos of me telling unfunny jokes in a deadpan voice.

Every dollar you give me will give me time to think and write by going towards rent, groceries, travel expenses, and other necessities, for which I will be eternally grateful.

  • Maybe you can be a character in my novel, once I'm able to write it. With this level of support, maybe I'd start work on it right away.
