Hello! I'm Martin O'Leary - I make Twitter bots, generative art, and other weird bits and pieces. A lot of my work is about landscapes, maps, and imagined places.

You may have seen some of my bots, like Uncharted Atlas, which invents maps of fictional places, like you might find in a cheap paperback fantasy novel, or Landsat Bot, which shares interesting images from NASA's Landsat satellites, or Botston, which generates (and sings!) new lyrics to the "Gaston" song from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Or maybe you prefer maps of invented citiesphotographs of imaginary architecturereminders of your own mortalitysoothing GIFs of spirals, or Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" in tweet form.

I want to do more projects like these, and I want to write about how these things work - like these long interactive explanations of how the maps and the placenames are created for Uncharted Atlas. Unfortunately, all this takes a long time to do, and I have rent to pay. With your support, I can afford to spend the time to make more of the work that I enjoy.

You get to feel good about yourself, which is no small thing.

Also, you get access to the patron-only feed, where I talk about what I'm up to, what my plans are, what I had for lunch, etc.

Behind the scenes
$5 or more per month 19 patrons
You get to feel even better about yourself, but probably not five times as good, unless you really want to.

You get access to behind-the-scenes stuff, including work-in-progress images, and the source code to my daily sketches, as well as the patron-only feed.

Actual tangible objects
$25 or more per month 1 patron
At this point you should have realised that you don't need my permission to feel good, but you should do it anyway.

You get the patron-only stuff, and the behind the scenes stuff. Also, four times a year, I'll send you actual physical objects in the mail. It might be sketches, it might be test prints, it might be something I just thought was cool. I'll be in touch about what sort of things interest you.

Goals
$158 of $500 per month
This would cover my rent, which would just be incredible.
