For the longest time, I've been calling myself, Michael the Comic Nerd, but I don't think I've ever fully taken advantage of what I can do with that name until now. So with the help of my good friend and editor, Ron Johnson Jr., we've begun taking the first steps in what we hope will be a complete re-invention of the channel with the MTCN Editorials that are video essays involving topics with comics that I put a lot of my heart and soul into, but as far as I'm concerned, that's only the beginning.
Starting next year, probably close to the summer, I want to begin using a professional studio to start recording and editing higher quality video series that would reboot some of our old series and start some new ones. This would be the second phase of our re-invention, eventually accumulating in bigger, more ambitious projects that I've wanted to do for a long time, with the first major being start making fan-made motion comics. Not just with kid-friendly colorful comics that a lot of the big companies like to go with, but stories that YOU actually want to see and overlooked stories that deserve a lot more attention than they get. The caveat to all this is that, if we're going to make these motion comics, I want to do right and professionally, which means renting out a proper studio, hiring actors (many of whom I know personally but would like to pay their fair due), hiring an editor and sound designer, and making sure it's as clean, polished, and awesome as we can possibly make it! But that costs money, a lot of money. I imagine the first one will largely be self-financed, but if you guys like what you see when it's released, we'd love your help to make more!
But again, there's still so much more we want to do! Including re-introducing game reviews, a D&D style show, convention coverage, giveaways, and so much more! We want to grow in leaps and bounds and none of it will be possible without your help! If any of this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please consider pledging! Until then, I'll see you guys in the next video!
