If I can reach $20.00 a month in accumulated donations, that will cover the cost of larger monthly podcast storage space than I currently have with the site that hosts my shows. It also gives me some cash over to spend on ring bound notebooks (which I get through an awful lot of) and tea bags (which I also get through an awful lot of).

Day Job Hiatus for Writing and Recording.

Regular donations totalling $500 would cover me in taking unpaid weeks out of my day job to work on my writing without having to quit employment.

Prolific writing is all about being in the grip of the muse - which for me means becoming obsessed with the story and having as few distractions as possible. $750 means more time immersed in my fiction, less time immersed in my day job.

The UK Living Wage

The Living Wage is calculated according to the basic costs of living in the UK. The current UK Living Wage is roughly £1,256 a month before tax. Based on today's currency exchange rates, that's just under $2,000 dollars a month. If I can hit this figure, I'm making the Living Wage!

I'm an independent author and podcaster. My podcast novel Underwood and Flinch won Best Small Cast Long Form Story awards at the Parsec Awards in 2012 and 2013. Since 2006, I've been giving my podcast stories and novels away for free, writing and recording in my spare time when I'm not working in my day job as an English language teacher. However, I now find I have more tales to tell in the Underwood and Flinch Chronicles than I have time left on this mortal coil to write and podcast them. Like all creators here on Patreon, I'd like to make enough money to be able to give up my day job and work full-time on my writing and podcasting. If enough good people chip in, I can do that, and it will enable me to keep my podcasts free for everyone to enjoy. Anything you can afford to add towards that goal would be hugely appreciated.
