Hello everyone! For those of you who know me already, welcome to my newly relaunched Patreon page! For those of you who don't know me yet, you will soon.

My name is Jocelyn Galey and I am a 24-year-old disabled Canadian currently living in London, Ontario. Originally, when I first came to Patreon, I was living on my own for the first time, in an unstable financial situation, struggling in school, and had very little time for my own mental or physical wellbeing. My patrons helped me through a very difficult time back then and I am glad to say that with new circumstances also comes a brand new Patreon.

Presently, I am an artist and writer who has chosen to take time away from school to focus on my health and my craft. I am a dedicated Dungeons & Dragons player, which has allowed me to pursue art and writing even when I felt like nothing else could inspire me. I want to share through my art the worlds I have been lucky enough to play in for years now. I am also passionate about the social issues surrounding gender, sexuality, chronic illness, and disability in particular. I want to approach these topics in my writing through a blend of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and prose. Finally, I really want to open my own Etsy shop for custom nerdy jewellery.

How does Patreon help me? Well, it helps me get paid for the work I put into my creative visions. I particularly like that Patreon allows me to share certain things with certain people, rather than releasing it all to one big audience at once. I can get feedback, constructive criticism, and still supplement my income in the process. Your support helps fund bigger projects, such as opening that Etsy store one day.

But your pledges not only support my creative ventures, but my quality of life. As a disabled individual, that comes with a series of less fun things like appointments, prescriptions, therapy, government applications, and doctors' notes. It's important that I am able to maintain my physical and mental health even when they're often the source of most of my stress. I am a loving cat mum to a beautiful Maine Coon named Yasha who keeps my spirits up, as well as a community volunteer with the Girl Guides of Canada. I help run unit meetings and camps for girls ages 9-14, who are some of the most creative people I know. And maybe, someday, I will go back to school and finish my bachelor's degree. These are just examples of other parts of my life that you can help support with your patronage.

Thank you for stopping by my page!

With much love,
Galey
