Feeding Frenzy
Covers my monthly payments for my websites/hosting and pays for my groceries. Food always comes out of my budget last, after bills. So having extra money from Patreon to pay for food is a big deal. No additional perks yet but I'll be building my energy thanks to the food budget!
Cell-ebration
Covers my monthly payments for my websites/hosting, groceries, and my phone bill. If we hit this goal I'll snail-mail everyone exclusive Patreon-only Cute Cat Butt Club buttons/lapel pins.
Loan-a-palooza and Video Blog
Covers my monthly payments for my websites/hosting, groceries, and my student loans. If we hit this goal, I'll record a video blog answering questions about comic creation, self-publishing, and the like. (At least once a month.)
Live Video Hangout
Covers my monthly payments for my websites/hosting, groceries, student loans, and my credit card debt. (From moving four times in two years.) If we hit this goal, I'll host a live video Q&A/hangout session (for $2+ supporters) where I'll take sketch requests and answer questions about comic creation, self-publishing, etc. (Once a month.)
Cartoonist Life
Covers ALL monthly payments (including rent). If we hit this goal: I'll update the video blog and host a live video Q&A/hangout session (for $2+ supporters) once a week. I'll also update Frankie Comics in full colour and update with better regularity.

Hey, there! My name is Rachel Dukes and I'm a freelance cartoonist living and working in Southern California.
I've been posting journal comics online and self-publishing mini-comics since 2001. In 2013, one of my cat comics (Life with/out a Cat from my ongoing series Frankie Comics) went viral and was on Buzzfeed, Reddit, Cheezeburger, and the like.
I've worked for websites like The Nib, Narratively, and Symbolia, as well as publishers like BOOM Studios (on Garfield, Steven Universe, and Adventure Time) and Abrams (on my first graphic novel, Let Me Walk You Home).
I take on as much freelance work as I can; however, full-time freelancing is often a financial struggle (with erratic payments of varying amounts). That's where you come in.
If you become a Patron at a $2 level, you will have access to sketchbook drawings, work-in-progress shots of all my comics, and a first look at everything I create. You'll be able to read the finished versions of all my comics here before they're ever published in print or posted anywhere else online.
Current projects:
- 13-page queer superhero story for the Oath anthology, written by Megan Rose Gedris
- Illustrations for a RVIVR gallery show
- 24-page Frankie Comics #4
Upcoming projects:
- 24-page Frankie Comics #5
- 24-page Frankie Comics #6
- 10-page back-up comic for Garfield
- 4-page back-up comic for Adventure Time
- Multi-page (TBD) back-up comic for Saved By The Bell
- 24-page childrens book pitch (Frankie's Busy Day reboot)
- 24-page comic about family, nature, and death called Bear Teeth
...and so much more!
For just $2 a month, you can help make me a healthier, happier cartoonist!
