Hello there! My name is Molly O'Blivion. I make stuff.

I've always found it difficult to summarize why I do the things I do in a way that looks good in a little white box on the internet. I'm here at Patreon because. Because I love to create somethings from nothing and surround myself with others who love to do the same. Because I've found that art - no matter the medium - saves lives (it's most certainly saved mine) and I've wanted to take part in that miracle since I was old enough to know what it was. Because I think "patronage" is an interesting word. Because I'm tired of having to tuck my creative projects into a drawer and walk away from them in favor of part-time jobs that offer little creativity beyond inventing new comforting reasons to keep working without losing what's left of my mind. Because I want to create art for a living.

As for why I feel anyone should pledge to me... I don't. I don't think anyone SHOULD. But I do think it would be really neat if they did.

My current projects:
  • Sleep to Dream. A visual novel powered by the Ren'py VN engine which tells the story of two people, Jack and Mona, suffering from debilitating mental illnesses. Both have begun to lose hope that they'll ever recover, but through sudden and inexplicable shared dreaming, they discover inner strengths and help save one another - as well as themselves - from their demons. The story for the project is a condensed version of a novel I finished two years ago.
  • Postcards from Purgatory. A web comic which began as an art therapy project while I was housebound with severe agoraphobia. It's since become a small but ever growing collection of awkward moments and observations of life (both real and imaginary) as seen through the eyes of an anxious nonsensicalist. With monsters. And people with appliances for heads.

I've recently returned from a rather long hiatus (details in my most recent update) and it may take me a bit to get back into the swing of things. It feels so good to be drawing again, though, and I'm super excited to see what the year will bring.
