What is "Alcohol & An Album"? I LOVE listening to the random vinyl records I got when I bought a storage unit filled with them, and I find new things all the time. One of my favorite things to do is listen to these albums while sipping some new, adventurous cocktail I've made up from whatever interesting things I find at local liquor store and chatting about what I think about the songs I'm listening to. I thought: I should share this experience with other people, particularly, the people who make my music possible! Sometimes it's funny; sometimes, it's not... but it's always entertaining!
About Molly Starlite
I started writing songs when I was 9 years old. I taught myself to play drums, then piano, then guitar. I also tinker around on bass and mandolin. But my true love is writing music. I love telling stories with my lyrics and music, and I am currently writing custom songs for other people as well as new material for another new album in 2020, tentatively titled Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
Since 2017, my band, Molly Starlite and the Sputniks, has released at least an album per year:
- Troublemaker (2017 - 6-song EP)
- BitterSweet (2018 - 12-song LP)
- Needles & Gasoline (2019 - 10-song LP)
- Curse of the Tiki (2019 - 4-song EP)
I put 100% of the money I get from performing, CD sales, and digital downloads back into making more music. But I have some REALLY, REALLY cool things that I want to do... and you can help me do those things! Take a look at some of the things I have planned in my rewards tiers!
Molly Starlite & the Sputniks' latest full-length release, Needles & Gasoline, has a song on it called "A Little Magic" that is NOT available anywhere else online... until NOW. Any of my patrons at the $5/mo level or higher will have access to the High Quality MP3 and WAV download for that song!
Our albums are full of original Rockabilly Fleetwood Mac goodness & are available from iTunes, Spotify, Groove, Google, Amazon, & many more fine digital retailers! Order our CDs from mollystarlite.com and get them SIGNED! Plus, all patrons who order any of my CDs get a special, exclusive, secret gift that is not available anywhere else at any price! I wrote every song on these albums, as well as a released collection of custom song singles on a digital-only album called Tailored Tunes:
- Mr. Stina Rae & Me
- Every Mile of the Ride
- Hot Rod Christmas
- Cheat Codes
- Tease Ya
- Glitter On
On Friday the 13th of September 2019, Molly Starlite and the Sputniks produced a two-hour scripted concert called Curse of the Tiki! Comprised of my original material and performed live, the concert included four brand-new, original songs that tell tale of a honeymooning couple in 1962 who accidentally unleashes the Curse of the Tiki while on their tropical honeymoon. The venue was decked out in tropical decor to mimic a mid-century Hawaiian Hotel and guests were given leis and tropical cups for their drinks for the show. The band performed as though we were the entertainment for the night at the fore-mentioned hotel, and our set list was comprised of our most danceable songs. Narration was broadcast through the sound system to welcome guests, fill in the blanks between songs, and to announce one of the new songs that told the tale of "The Curse of the Tiki!" One of the things I will be able to do with help from my patrons is bring this lively and exciting mid-century adventure to other cities and venues, paying for travel costs and venue fees.
In the future, I would love to be able to produce more professional music videos, better photos, more scripted concert events, more professionally-produced music, and more custom songs and parodies in my own home studio.
My dream is to be able to make a living just making people happy with my music... Poke around this page or my web site to learn more about what I am doing. So, toss a coin or two into my virtual guitar case, eh? I sure do appreciate you taking the time to read this and consider being my patron.
