Ni Hao! Welcome to my travel & martial arts website! My name is Will and I am a practitioner of Kung Fu. For the past decade I have been travelling Asia seeking out the most respected and authentic masters of martial arts. I want to share my training, travel & martial arts research and experiences with you, in the hope I may be able to dispell some myths, and make it more accessible.

I'm going to start conducting a series of interviews on my Youtube channel.

This will be an ongoing project, but will begin with some interviews here in China where I'm based. This will focus on northern Chinese kung fu styles and will showcase authentic old school styles in their raw form.

From there I will head to Singapore and Malaysia to investigate the martial arts scenes there: how the Chinese diaspora has developed Kung Fu there, how native styles have influenced them, and of course what native styles are there. In this series I will showcase various Hakka, Hokkienese and Kuntao systems, as well as Silat... and hopefully some Indian martial arts too! As I said, this will be an ongoing project, and is going to be incredibly expensive and time consuming. However, I want to keep this authentic, and so I will be avoiding sponsorship at all costs and paying for it from my own pocket. Sponsorship for this kind of thing will compromise the authenticity of the interviews presented....... you end up having who you should interview, and what to ask being dictated to you, and end up promoting certain invididuals and their agendas. With this in mind, I would like to ask for your support: For the price of a cup of coffee a month, you can help fund this amazing project and allow it to develop to its full potential.

My second series will be to Henan province, the place which almost all Chinese martial arts have their roots. Although the famed Shaolin Temple now focuses more on modern Wushu and Sanda, in the villages around you can still find the old styles.

The nearby city of Luoyang was capital of several of China's dynasties, and the local Hui Muslim community are renowned for practicing the Three Guardians of Islam: Cha Quan (a kind of long fist), Xinyi Liuhe and Qi Shi Quan.

Chen Village and Zhaobao Village, which both claim to be the origin of Taiji Quan are also in the vicinity.
