My brother Zach and I are avid video game fans who have finally decided to take a plunge and dive into the realm of creating video games ourselves. I say finally but really, we've been at this for a year already. Now onto our 2nd game engine, third iteration of the project, we're making good progress. From finally getting ladders to work to pushing the boundaries of what's doable on Unreal engines, we're getting better everyday.

Volkstein is our first game and the one we'll be featuring here. It's a 2d side scroller, much in the vain of Mega Man or Mario, but with an RPG element. We wanted to capture the nostalgia of great games from our childhood with some of the better features of games from today, most prominently the Elder Scrolls series. So yes, there will be loads of different armors, unique weapons, secret levels, bosses, leveling up, and a story set in a rich yet odd world.

That being said, Volkstein is just the first. Our plan is to build a company from our meager means and expand into 3d game development from there. Right now, I do all of the pixel art, level design, and visual scripting while Zach handles background artwork, particle effects, and sound production. Between the two of us, it's a ton of work but by no means unattainable. Your pledges wouldn't make us create the game however. No, that will be done regardless. Rather, your pledges would give us more time to devote to it and put it out that much sooner.

You'll get the basic image of the main character and be able to outfit him in whatever armor design you so wish. And I will then animate it for use in the game.

With this, you can either design your own boss to be used in the game, or give me the most detailed description you can and I'll do it for you. I'll even create a level and dialogue based off your specifications.

Though I've had my eyes on doing this regardless, at this point I'm not sure. This is definitely something I want to do and between Zach and I, we have the ideas to create that amount.
