Welcome to Wild Whimsy Writing: Playing on and off the Page. I'm Willow Althea, a.k.a. Morgan Dragonwillow,  author of Wild Woman Waking and Dancing within Shadow, dancing poet, motivator of words, magical instigator, co-facilitator at #StoryDam and creatrix of #OctPoWriMo and Poets on the Page, where there are no rules for poetry, only playing with your words until you breathe life into them.  I've been writing, supporting, and encouraging other writers since 2011.

A great story idea floats through your mind and you begin taking down notes. The excitement builds until you think you have enough and begin to write. You get to around ten thousand words or so and you fizzle out. You feel like it's not going anywhere and you hate it. You get depressed and walk away.

I know the struggle as this was me up until November, 2017 when I broke through the walls that were holding me back from getting my stories on the page.  Suddenly I was writing 10,000 - 20,000 words per day. I finished the NaNoWriMo story I was working on and went on to the next story, and the next. I wrote 9 stories and over 500,000 words in four months with the ninth story first draft, from first sentence to last and approximately 60,000 words, being written within four days. The maximum I'd ever written before last November was 6000 words in a day, and that was rare. I had let the inner editor and perfectionist beat me up internally before then and it had kept me from being free on the page.

I barreled through the walls, making them crumble and fall. I connected to my muse, to the Divine, to the universe which allowed me to connect with the characters, to the stories, and the words were streaming almost faster than I could type. Whole scenes were downloading and I had to keep writing until the stories were told. Now I'm gradually editing the stories and getting them ready to publish. I need time and professional help to get these stories edited to the point of being able to publish them and that is the main reason I chose to do this through Patreon.

Editing is difficult, though I've broken through the walls to get my words on the page, editing is a different monster altogether. That is why I need your help. The money I raise here will allow me to continue this writing journey, hire professional editing help and finally get my stories published. I've been, mostly, trying to do it on my own and I feel like an inch worm, slowly, achingly, making it to the other side. Now life changes are happening and pulling me away from writing to find ways to support myself which leaves even less time for writing and editing.

Everything I raise here will go toward supporting this writing journey, finally seeing my stories in print (and/or ebook), and helping others do the same.

I'm a writer who has learned how to get her stories written quickly from first sentence to last. Now I want to help you get your stories on the page. I've created Wild Whimsy Writing to work with you to help you breakthrough the walls that are keeping you from completing your stories. If you are looking for support and gentle accountability on your writing journey, you're in the right place.

"Your Octpowrimo was one of the best things to happen to me. I really appreciate you taking time out and checking in with me every week. It helps me so much and is making an impact on my writing. Thank you." ~Jesi Scott

You have several options from full immersion to participating monthly (workshops and individual phone sessions have been put on hold until September). It all depends on your schedule. You may decide on connecting online daily, weekly, or monthly as a group. Individually there is the option to connect once a week on the phone. You may decide you want to start out slow with my writing tips, prompts, and journal entries that I will share here.

If you have trouble getting your stories on the page from beginning to end, this is your chance to blow through those blocks, connect to your muse, to your characters, to your stories and get them written.

During this process, which begins September, 1st, 2018, I will be working on editing my nine stories (one at a time of course) as well as the book, Wild Whimsy Writing for this program. I will share my journey in my journal entries here as well as tidbits,

As Patrons you have choices, you can join in Wild Whimsy Writing to get your stories written, or you can help support me in my writing and publishing journey to get my own stories published as professionally as possible.

From the smallest tier to the largest, they all matter and I appreciate your support more than you can possibly imagine!

There are only two things in the world I love almost as much as my family and friends, writing (getting published) and helping others get their words on the page. Thank you for helping me to achieve both.
