Hey there!

I write fiction, and sometimes that fiction relates to role-playing games.

I like stories that have a gritty, realistic tone. I tend to write a lot of characters, and I like giving each of them a distinct and memorable personality. My stories can sometimes take a dark, bleak turn, but they're far from humorless.

Most of my fans have come from a retelling of a D&D campaign that I've been doing over on reddit, the story of Steelshod.  The version on reddit is very loose, written in the style of a gamemaster telling his buddies all about his game. Here is the table of contents. It began as a one-shot game and, through the magic of collaborative storytelling and worldbuilding, it's become a richly detailed world created over many years.

I also post full prose fiction at my website, Mostly Writes, if that's more your speed.

I would like to thank anyone who's followed my work and continues to follow it as it develops, especially those of you that enjoyed it enough to become one of my patrons.

Simple Storytelling System

I'll polish and release an entirely new and unique rules-lite system of my own design. Inspiration drawn from some other rules-lite systems such as Savage Worlds, Fate, etc.

This system is a highly customizable ruleset designed for fast and easy play, with a strong emphasis on limitless choice, improvisation and GM adjudication. I've used it to run post apocalypse, urban fantasy, high fantasy, and supernatural mystery games.

Expanded Steelshod Guide

Rules subsystems, such as strategy, magic, and nation-building will begin being added to the Steelshod Guide. These will largely be system agnostic, but originally designed for use with the core d20-based system.

I'll also include some suggestions on custom rules to tweak Fifth Edition D&D to work in a similar fashion.

I'll also include a bunch more lore for the Torathworld setting... maps, NPCs, plots, etc.
