About Mumbo Jumbo Music

However you got here, thank you for taking the time to look at my page.
I’ve been home-producing music for about 25 years. My childhood friend and I saved our money for months when were 15 years old and bought our first cassette 4-track. We had dual custody and would take turns staying up all night laying down tracks on top of each other’s creations.
From tape-based 4-tracks to computer-based recording software like Cakewalk in my 20’s and 30’s, I’ve always loved creating music in my spare time. I took some recording classes in college as electives as well as jazz bass and music theory. I’ve been playing in bands since the mid 90’s and have shared the stage and created with musicians who are part of national acts and are currently making a good living in music.
My wife Heidi and I moved to Oregon from Upstate New York in 2004 and knew virtually no one. Every Sunday from the moment I woke up until she came home from work in the late afternoon I was in my little makeshift bedroom studio laying down ideas. I came home from Oregon with hundreds of hours of material but more importantly, I came home with a ton of experience and my own individual process for producing my music.
I’m now 40, I’ve been with my wife for 21 years, we have an 8 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. Spare time is a real commodity these days. I work full time, my wife works 3 days a week. My daughter dances 5 days a week and my son wrestles at least twice a week.
I realize that I picked a hell of a time to try and turn my passion for music into a living. I have a mortgage, car payments, utility bills..... but I realize that I have nothing to lose. I’m losing currently by not doing what I love and by not using the abilities I was blessed with. I’ve spent almost 30 years cultivating my talents and developing my voice and I’m determined to stop wasting time doing anything other than projecting it out into the world.
Any support I can get from this community would truly be a blessing as I attempt to break free from the machine...
