Milestone Goals
Make MLiG Better!
We're starting with only one milestone, but everything - even what we may earn beyond this goal - goes toward improving our work. This includes video equipment and gear, hardware for RGB episodes, and games we want to feature. If we have to buy something for the show, your support helps fund it.

WHO ARE WE?
Hey everyone! We're Coury and Marc. We started My Life in Gaming (MLiG) in October 2013 as joint project so that we could utilize our professional video production and post-production expertise in making projects that we could get excited about.
We create highly produced and tightly edited videos that are casual, enthusiastic and... for lack of a better word, NICE. We have no desire to rant... we just want to talk about the things that we like and stuff we think is cool. We got a bit of recognition early on with our "How to Beat" VHS-style series that was heavily inspired by the old "How to Win" game tapes of the late 80's. Our main "MLiG" series covers everything from our memories with a game from the past, to examinations of various developers' work on different platforms. We don't like to think of our videos as "reviews," but rather, we call them "recollections."
The RGB Master Class
In August 2014, we released an episode sharing our findings on "Getting the Best Picture from Retro Consoles," which ended up being a much bigger hit than we ever imagined. There was clearly an immense interest in the subject, but also a lack of accessible and easily understandable material out there. So we decided to turn it into a complete series known as the "RGB Master Class." This series will continue to build upon itself to eventually create the ultimate resource for people interested in getting into the increasingly dense hobby of retro gaming in the modern age. Here's the breakdown of how we arrange episodes in the series:
RGB100 Level - The basics for getting into RGB retro gaming
RGB200 Level - Console-specific episodes
RGB300 Level - Side subjects that are fun and relevant to getting the best picture from retro consoles
So, Why PATREON?
We strive to constantly improve our work, and if you'd like to help us do so, we'd like to give you that option. If you decide not to, we totally get that too. We've released highly produced videos every two weeks pretty much since the beginning. We're preparing to ramp things up and hope to hit weekly releases in the near future. Patreon itself doesn't change these goals, but it will absolutely help improve our show's look, production efficiency, and our ability to cover a wider variety of topics in greater depth.
The RGB Master Class is also a huge reason for it. It's our desire to turn this series into something that can be viewed as the definitive video resource on the subject. Before we started My Life in Gaming, we spent an enormous amount of time trying to come to grips with the subject of RGB... the idea that we could get video quality out of our retro consoles that was beyond what we ever thought possible. It's a hugely dense topic, and much of the conversation surrounding it is extremely technically-oriented. It's our belief that RGB gaming is something that anyone should be able to enjoy, so our goal is to produce the straightforward and easy-to-understand resource that we wish we'd had access to when we were first getting into it.
Things can get complicated (and expensive) when you want to cover these subjects as thoroughly as possible. Most consoles have several different revisions and mods available, and we want to address them all if we can. Not to mention, we've also gotten requests to cover additional upscaling options, as well as other related hardware. All of this stuff adds up.
What Do the Pledges go Towards?
Every donation goes toward improving My Life in Gaming. Whether it be video equipment to raise our production values to new heights, additional hardware to cover for the RGB Master Class, games we want to show and talk about - everything. We want to create the best-produced and most thorough videos that we possibly can, and we're very excited to share what you can make possible through your support.
