In a country where the unprecedented destruction reached places and cities that were a memory for many generations and in the midst of devastation and violation of human’s mutual memory along with their rights, reaching out to what we may by which gather this war-hit and shredded collective memory, is a must. We at Naqesh foundation believe that through the rich heritage and folklore of the ancient geography of the whole mosaic-like Syrian society, we actually have a chance.
Considering that heritage and folklore are two of the main bearers of society and its memory and its bond to the land, Naqesh foundation aims at documenting and presenting them to show that this devastated country is still alive.
Naqesh foundation is a Syrian foundation that addresses English speakers trying to build bridges by going beyond geography and border constraints and away from the stereotype image that the world has known about Syria since 2011.
Naqesh foundation aims to present multimedia digital-content knowledge to introduce Syria and its rich history, culture, and folklore that belongs to the peoples of the area naming Kurds, Arabs, and Assyrians .
As the vulnerable are the ones who suffer the most by the war, Naqesh foundation will focus its efforts on women and children’s different issues. The foundation will work on providing a diverse content including: prominent figures, cities, books, movies, and variety of other subjects as well.
