This evening when I picked up my guitar, this song was suddenly there asking to be shared.

I -as I'm sure many of us are- am deeply affected by the current refugee situation in Europe. I think it's insane that our leaders are so obsessed with their invented borders that people are dying while the politicians avoid helping.

We are all ONE FAMILY sharing ONE EARTH, we've got to do this together! 

Happily, there are also many beautiful stories of hope, like in Germany where people are welcoming the refugees with open arms, and I know many who are taking steps to support those in need. There is light in the world, and I am so grateful for this!

This song asked to be sung, I hope that it helps in some small way. I am also donating money and more to add my bit of support where it is needed.

Ok, so, I know I already shared a creation this month, but I'm getting SO excited for the upcoming music video of my song It's The Little Things that I just had to share this sneak preview. Also, I just wanted to make something to welcome all the newbies on here, cos I'm all happy and tingly about you being so epic :D!

I was going back through some old creations on here, and I appreciate so much how engaged you are with my art. Almost a year ago, the lovely Jessica Allossery got in touch with me after having found my page on Patreon. She's a Canadian songstress and we've become great friends (she's also a creator on Patreon, ain't this community delightful)! 

As fate would have it, Jessica was recently flown to Europe for musical shenanigans, and she came and spent a week in London! In that time we had some lovely adventures and recorded TWO video covers. 

So, without further ado, please enjoy the first, my choice of a song called 'Empty', by Ray LaMontagne! This is one of my ALL-TIME favourite songs, so it's a huge honour to cover it, especially with someone as delightful as Jessica. See if you agree :).

My best friend Heyn and I began playing guitar together when we were 14. We co-wrote our first few songs and were inseparable for many years. Life, as it sometimes does, pulled us in different directions, although we remain great friends. 

The last song we wrote together was way back in 2009, when we were sharing a house in Kalk Bay, Cape Town (along with my lovely sister Lucinda).

Heyn came to me with these beautiful chords and I helped fill it out a bit more and added the lyrics, which is really about our friendship. Two friends wandering through life, supporting one another, walking away and walking back together again. 

I stayed with Heyn for a few months in Cape Town this year, and was honoured to have him join me on stage to play this song at my last show! We may have grown into very different people, but he'll always be one of my favourite people and best friends.
