Hi, I'm Nicky, and I play with play!
Here's some interactive shtuff I've made:
Parable of the Polygons. An explorable explanation of systemic bias and diversity. We used game theory to explain how small individual biases can accumulate into large institutional biases. And also used cute shape-people. Segregation has never been so adorable!
Coming Out Simulator. My other works explain systems through stories, but this one is a story turned into a system. This interactive story is personal, a semi-fictionalized account of my coming out as queer to my conservative Asian parents. A half-true story about half-truths.
Neurotic Neurons. An interactive animation about neurons and anxiety, a mix of science and storytelling. Also, just like how Parable of the Polygons injected interactivity into the blog post format, this thing injects interactivity into the animated explainer format. (think Vi Hart, CGP Grey, Minute Physics, etc)
And Other Shenanigans. There's a whole bunch of other experimental works I do, too. From augmented reality, to virtual reality, to game design articles, to silly minigames. Coz why not.
P.S: All my work is also open source/public domain?!?!?!
