Hello, you beautiful ghosts. My name is Nicole. You might know me from the independent bookstore where I work. You might follow me on Twitter, where I routinely talk about books and publishing. You might recognize my name from interviews in Publisher's Weekly or Bustle. Booksellers might recognize me as the co-chair of the New England Children's Bookselling Advisory Council and as a member of the New England Independent Booksellers Association, where I won an award for my work as a bookseller. Readers might know me as the founder of YA Interrobang or as a contributor to the Barnes & Noble Teen blog and the Barnes & Noble Kids blog. You might enjoy my Instagram, where I take photos of books I'm reading and am excited for in nature settings.

I'm an anxious girl somewhere on the queer spectrum who loves dragons and plants. The rest changes without notice. Welcome to my Patreon!

What is Patreon? Patreon is a monthly subscription service that allows you to support creators that you love. Money pledged will be automatically charged to you on the first of each month. This allows creators to focus on making things you love and allowing you to become their patron and support system. Creators couldn't do it without you!

Why support me? Joining my Patreon community will ensure that I can spend more time doing what I love: talking about books. Booksellers notoriously don't make a lot of money, and I'd like to continue to educate authors and other booksellers, readers and bloggers on how publishing works and how to best make use of your digital space to promote the books you love—while, of course, shamelessly recommending the books I love. I don't think information and education about publishing should be restricted to those who can afford to attend publishing programs in New York City or who can worm their way into the right crowd, and this will allow me to continue to share knowledge without draining my own resources to do so. (Like how Barnes & Noble is important to the publishing industry.) Everybody wins!

But what will you do with the money? Almost everything I make here on Patreon will go towards paying my bills and buying groceries—ensuring that I have the energy and time to continue to share my knowledge for free on the Internet. Covering the overhead of Internet, web hosting, and things I need to buy to keep everything functional will take an immense weight off my shoulders. Eventually, it will allow me to freelance less and invest more time in projects, including my own writing and official classes to help authors or bloggers. (Like Notebook Not Included, a free organizational class for authors!)

What perks do Patrons have? My Patreon community has exclusive first looks at an educational essay every month on a topic they vote on. They also get the chance to ask questions with experts in their fields in Q&As hosted by me, ranging on topics from cover design to the comic book industry to longevity as an author. Patrons will also get the first shot to ask me to talk about or research a topic they're interested in to write and learn about. (Like how book subscription boxes work.)

Anything else I should know? Thank you so much for your support. You're one rad human.

Great barrier reef! You are collectively covering the overhead of Internet costs and hosting fees that allow me to share publishing information for free. Now I can create content without the added burden of financial stress.
