Who Am I?

I’m Craig Campbell, owner of NerdBurger Games. I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for three decades.

I did a whole bunch of freelancing for games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Iron Kingdoms, and more. A few years ago, I started designing my own games. My first RPG was Murders & Acquisitions, a tongue-in-cheek game of fighting your way up the corporate ladder by whatever means necessary. Next came the BAMFsies award-winning CAPERS, an RPG of super-powered gangsters in the Roaring Twenties. Most recently, I designed Die Laughing, a short-play, GM-less, horror-comedy game that puts the laughter back in slaughter.

All of these games came to fruition because of Kickstarter. And Kickstarter worked fine for my larger efforts that have been spaced out a bit. But what about those smaller game design efforts that don’t really warrant all the extra effort and time it takes to plan, run, and fulfill a Kickstarter?

What This Is About?

I want to share my process a bit more. I want to make some smaller supplements for my games. I want to make micro-games. I want to do cool stuff online with fans of my work. I want to build a stronger NerdBurger Games community with people who are interested in supporting my work in a small – but ongoing – way.

It takes quite a lot of time and effort to create independently. There are little “nickel and dime” expenses that I don’t even notice most of the time, in addition to larger expenditures. Most of the time, it’s worth it. But it’s also a lot of hard work and I’m going to be honest here…making some money now and then in exchange for my time and effort is important. Not a lot…just SOME.

Become a NerdBurger!

If you dig my games and want to help me pursue some of these smaller ventures, become a Patron. A monthly donation will help you support me as a designer and community builder. Your donation will help keep me stocked up on the resources I need to make games.

Every dollar I make here goes into NerdBurger Games. Website hosting fees. Software. Purchases of new artwork and graphics in preparation for larger projects. All sorts of stuff. If the Patreon gets big enough, I’ll even pour some of that money into these smaller efforts and commission artwork to go with some of the smaller game efforts patrons will get.

When it comes right down to it, I’m a big believer in the idea that there is no such thing as “too many games.” And this Patreon will help me contribute more games to the RPG community at large. Your donation will help make that happen.
