Hi! Welcome to my Patreon page!

My name's Enrique Bertran, but I am better known online as NewbieDM. Ever since I rediscovered my love of role playing games with the 4th edition of D&D, I have been an active member of the rpg community. Whether it's been dispensing advice, making tutorials, creating gaming material, talking, chatting, or podcasting, I've been around talking about, participating, and contributing to a community that I love.

I've seen a lot of how the community has grown and changed over the past ten years--the rise of streaming, the change in editions of our favorite games, new games and experiences appearing, and a whole new generation coming of age and discovering gaming through means we could have never imagined when we discovered gaming! It's an exciting time to be a part of this.

One of the things I've struggled with is finding the time to keep doing what I do around rpgs. Time these days is at a premium, the day job, my family, and other real world stuff taxes my time, so I figured that a Patreon will give me the motivation and drive to stay focused and engaged.

I also want to financially contribute to something important to me, and need your help.

Along with earning some coin to continue doing what I do, upgrade my equipment, commission art, etc, part of this Patreon is also meant to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association, a charity close to my heart, as my mom passed away due to complications from Diabetes in July of 2017, so in her honor I want to donate some of the funds earned through my Patreon to the ADA.

The goals I set for the Patreon will help determine how much of the money earned will go to the charity. The higher the goal reached, the higher the contribution. It will be done through Pay Pal, as the ADA website allows for Pay Pal donations.

Of course, I'll post proof every month as I make my donations to the ADA.

So here's what I am committing to as I launch this Patreon:

-Create a minimum of one monthly podcast revolving around gaming (advice, interviews, etc) that I self-host.
-Write articles on gaming supplements, providing the POV of a new game master.
-Stream shows where I create content with the community's help. These will be a sort of "workshop" to create gaming material with the audience.

Supporting me on Patreon will allow me to keep doing what I'm doing while at the same time contributing to a cause I'm passionate about, and that's a critical hit right there!

Thanks!
