pytest is a Python testing framework which makes it easy to write simple tests and powerful enough to scale to complex testing scenarios. With over 280 individual contributors and 1900+ stars on GitHub, it is one of the most used Python test frameworks.

My name is Bruno Oliveira, I live in Florianopolis, Brazil. I write open source software on my spare time, and contribute to a number of open source projects (checkout my GitHub profile). I discovered pytest 5 or 6 years ago and immediately fell in love with the project, so I started contributing and have been a pytest core developer for over 4 years now. I'm just one of the people which contribute to the project daily.

I'm also the maintainer of a number of pytest plugins: pytest-xdistpytest-mockpytest-faulthandlerpytest-cpppytest-qt.

Contributing with pytest is very rewarding by itself, but it does take up your free time: usually I spend 2-4 hours per day after work responding to issues, preparing releases, working on new features or fixing bugs.

I created this Patreon account to give the opportunity to people to show appreciation for my work if they want to.
