About Nightscape Press
The company was initially launched in 2012 on the heels of the success of Horror for Good: A Charitable Anthology co-edited by Nightscape co-founders Mark C. Scioneaux and Robert S. Wilson. Horror for Good continues to contribute all net royalties to amfAR The Foundation for AIDS Research. In October of 2013 Nightscape Press published Blood Type: An Anthology of Vampire SF On the Cutting Edge which continues to contribute all net royalties to The Cystic Fibrosis Trust. And finally, in December of 2014, NSP published Fantasy for Good: A Charitable Anthology which continues to contribute all net royalties to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
In May of 2018 we announced our new Charitable Chapbooks line of limited books and in September we had our first open submissions period for our upcoming charity novel line of books. These lines of books contribute both an advance and a large percentage of royalties to the charity of their author's choice. Our Charitable Chapbooks debuted with the sold out chapbook edition of THE BROKER OF NIGHTMARES, a brand new Dunnstown novelette from the phenomenal Jon Padgett, whose groundbreaking Dunnstown collection/mosaic novel The Secret of Ventriloquism was named best fiction book of 2016 by Rue Morgue Magazine.
In November 2018, the physical chapbook edition of THE BROKER OF NIGHTMARES sold out (the eBook edition is currently available for pre-order) and we were able to send $1,000 from the proceeds to Jon's chosen charity, the ACLU!
In December 2018, we opened registration for the 2019 Nightscape Press Caribbean Cabal Charitable Writers Retreat with special guests Laird Barron and John Langan which upon filling all 25 slots will raise up to $10,000 for The Sylvia Rivera Law Project. The SRLP works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination or violence.
We also have more Charitable Chapbooks forthcoming from Matthew M. Bartlett, Doungjai Gam, Michael Wehunt, Jon Padgett, and more charitable books yet to be announced. Please consider becoming our patron and help us help great writers give to the charities they are passionate about. And in turn, we can all help many great causes together.
