About Shocktopus Games

Hi we are Tom, Yassine and Yamir and we're creating Now There Be Goblins, a VR smash and smash tower defense hybrid!

Why Now There Be Goblins?

We're striving to create a polished, well-balanced and fun to play VR game with exciting combat systems and tactical, refreshing but traditional tower defense game aspects.

some of the core mechanics and features of our game are:

Fight Phase
Smack, bash and stomp the goblins with your mighty blacksmiths hammer, and see them flying. Fight your way through the hordes to find the source of these pesky beasts.


Build Phase

Use cannons, barricades, poison, traps, huge piercing bolts and much more are at your disposal. Place them anywere you desire and find out which spots wreak the most havoc. Observe, learn and change your strategy to find new ways to take advantage of your structures.

Unlocks:
Complete more levels and higher difficulties to unlock more structures, structure upgrades, hammer specialties and more!

Tiers and Niches:
Each structure upgrade comes with it's own niche which enables you to swap out different structures with different niches with gives you different playstyles to play around with and master!


Personality
Not all goblins are born equally, they all have their own personality, Some goblins are strong and brave whilst others might be easily scared. These personality traits affect the way goblins can interact with their environment, their gear and with the player, which makes the game feel more refreshing.

Levels
We're trying to create interesting and interactable levels that work well in VR by playing with different aspects that make VR different from traditional games like scale and depth. Each level has it's own obstacles, interactables and ways of playing!


Polish
With each member of our team having it's own expertise, we can create everything from scratch, which means we have total control and are able to create very polished visuals, design and audio!
