Nuts And Bolts is a podcast series about gear! A podcast for music-lovers and music-makers alike. Interviews with female and non-binary artists about how gear has played a role in their work. What they use, how, and why. Nuts And Bolts combines the nerdy dimension with the accessible when it comes to gear, cushioned in plenty of soundbites. Nuts And Bolts takes its departure point in the magical powers of nerd-humor, and talking about what the artists know best: their daily craft. We believe in the importance of diversity and equal opportunities in the infrastructure of the music business, among which the wide world of gear.

Nuts And Bolts is made by an all-femxle team. Created, hosted, edited and mixed by musician/producer Jessica Sligter, co-produced by Anne Gerd Grimsby Haarr and writer Susanne Christensen, and technical advice by Ragnhild Nelvik Bruseth. We also organise and participate in panels and other events around the subjects of gear x gender.

Our first season (published on The Quietus) was partially funded by the Norwegian Arts Council, but largely Nuts And Bolts is made on volunteer work. One thing that makes this podcast so special, is the amount of care and artistry put into each episode. That's due to it being artists behind the project. Seeing as artists today already face a practice where much of their work is left unpaid, we strive towards a just payment of the work they put into Nuts And Bolts.

Help us achieve a decent wage for the makers of Nuts And Bolts!

You, our patrons, can enable Nuts And Bolts not only to pay its makers their due wages, but also, for Nuts And Bolts to develop into an independent, sustainable organisation. First off, this means that as soon as finances allow, we'll be making 1 episode of our podcast every month of the year.

Our next step is to venture into the world of video. We're preparing to launch a series of gear-demos and tutorials. Diversity in that field still has a long way to go, and we aim to contribute to it. We are dedicated to diversity in terms of gender, ethnicity and sexuality.
Goals

When we reach $500 per month, we will have covered Nuts And Bolts Season #2, 4 episodes published on The Quietus Radio Hour november 2018 to february 2019! We will celebrate this by sharing with patrons a pilot Nuts And Bolts gear-tutorial video.
