About nyc noise

[decided not to publicly "launch" this, but if you happen to see it & send me some cash, it's much appreciated––just trust that i'm aware of priorities rn! not offering anything "extra" cuz this is already a big time investment + proceeds from fundraiser compilations are going to racial justice causes.]

(tl;dr: support appreciated! pretend you're going to *my* show & help me pay for the site! ❤️)

I run NYC-NOISE.COM, an experimental music calendar. The site's function was tracking gigs, but then things uhhh changed. NYC Noise now includes:

1) A livestream music calendar (with donation info);
2) Links to releases from local artists, w/ a feature page highlighting BIPOC;
3) Resources related to COVID-19, including grants, petitions, venue donation list;
4) An Instagram account(@nyc_noise) using a private archive of photographs & video to promote artists;
5) A monthly (for May/June/July) curated compilation series raising money for racial justice causes (currently COVID Bail Out NYC, bailing medically-vulnerable Black & brown people out of Rikers + providing post-release support).

I don't have ads or charge for the services or site access––I only*spend* money on this––& am hoping to partially offset costs including labor hours, operating expenses (e.g., site domain, hosting, functioning technology), & rent / medical / dental (sadface) bills; if I get a dash more ~solvent,~ I'd like to hire someone to make it an even better resource!

Check the about pageInstagram for more info––& if you're interested, here is the overview from the before-times (+ previous months on the "past" pages for 202020192018). Don't forget to let me know about your livestream or release, especially people of color in NYC! :)
