About

‘Off-grid Scotland’ intimately acquaints you, the audience, with stories of hardy Scottish folk who have chosen to live off-grid in the highlands. Over multiple visits that started in 2019, I have developed friendships with three hermits who have chosen to truly live on edge of modern society; without electricity, water or many of the modern commodities we each take for granted.

The series that started out as a final University project continues to grow in popularity. In april of this year, BBC Scotland published my four minute short about Davy: a man who went “into the wild” after being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. It has since reached over 1,200,000 online views and thousands of positive comments. My next film about Jake is due to be released by BBC shortly.

My intention is that this space acts as a space for those interested in these stories, to help develop them further. As a recently finished University student, I need to ask you to help fund this project in any way you can. In return, I will provide patrons with invaluable, never before heard insights into the stories and behind the scenes content including full-length interviews, extended versions of each film, blog updates, a large selection of photographs and wholly much more immersive experience.
