Who Am I?

In 2010, my life changed forever as as my mom was placed on the "big bus" from LA county jail in shackles to take her  dreaded trip to a CDCR prison. Nothing on the planet could have ever prepared me for that 3:00 in the morning call, not even the three years of fighting her cases.

Fast forward to 2019, and I'm the owner of the  nonprofit organization Prison Rideshare Network. It's future goal is to someday providing FREE rides to kids with incarcerated parents to visit them in prisons. To bring awareness to the cause, I along with my content writers, blog about prison news and other related topics daily.

I'm also the owner of  Content Marketing Geek, a small online marketing business. My skills in this industry have helped me create a nonprofit with brand awareness that appeals to a forgotten market... prison loved ones.

Unlocking My Creative Potential

All of this took me through a journey that led me to an awesome book idea that I'm sure you would love to take part in, as well as read. It began with the idea of using my connections to write about the death of Tupac Shakur... specifically Who killed Tupac Shakur.

But, being from Compton, California, it didn't take long to find out just how touchy that subject still is to this day in the hoods of LA County.

So, through much prayer and creative analysis,  my collaborator and I came up with a much more thought-provoking approach to the death of Pac. We want to tie it into the West Coast Gangs issue, specially the gangs of Compton, CA

Your Part in My Journey

In order to do this, we need to interview the right people, some of whom have left the state or are in hiding. In order to get the truth, we need to speak to these people face-to-face during the interviews. We also need to get in touch with the right crowds and people within in law enforcement agencies to get their takes as well.

This thing is far beyond the depths of the inner cites of Compton. We need to reach people involved from California to Nevada and beyond. That also means traveling, which can be expensive. For this, we need your help.

Many authors and documentary makers have covered the ' who killed Tupac' angle as best they could with what they had to work with. Most don't live anywhere near Compton. Therefore, they have NO connections with either the Compton Mob Pirus or the South Side Compton Crips.

They don't even have connections with the State of California or the Hip Hop world, in many cases.

So, they churn out general content with no actual impact on Hip Hop, Black, urban or any other types of communities interested in the BIG PICTURE behind his death, as well as the deaths of others related to the shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada (where I actually currently live).

Coming to Compton and Becoming a Gangbanger

Video: Chris Brown Claims Compton Pirus

This project is not about just the death of 2Pac. It's about the journey super stars take to get to the top. Then, the choices they make to become a part of something that seems glamorous, but it filled with danger for those who weren't raised in the gang lie.

Chris Brown is a prime example. It only took for this continuously rising superstar to complete ONE project in a CPT hood. The next thing we knew, he was announcing to the world that he was a Compton Tree Top Piru.

Check out the video below. Chris Brown released it to prove his loyalty to his new gang. He brought his Blood homies onto his movie set, and this is what they decided to post online.

I Got This

My journey as a 40-something-year-old Black woman from Lynwood and Compton gives me the inside info and connections I need to truly understand the deepness behind his death... Compton gangs, and how detrimental coming to the city and becoming a gangbanger could be to a man in America.

My collaborator has done multiple intense interviews with stars, including hood celebrities such as Freeway Ricky Ross. She knows the questions to ask and how to transform the answers into book-worthy content. Together, we can make this happen.

This project is in its beginning phases. With enough financial support, it can be transformed into the best DOCUMENTARY ever created related to Tupac Shakur. We can also touch on the MANY lives that were affected by the murder of one of the greatest rappers in Hip Hop history!

Why Am I Doing This?

What are my intentions with this Tupac/Compton project? My passion for this is based on my fear for and of my community. Compton is in trouble. And most of us can't help because we fear living near our local gangbangers.

Stars like Tupac and Chris Brown come through our city with powers that could really make differences. Instead. The drug... gangbanging... sucks then in and the next thing you know, the message is lost... and so are they!

I'm hoping to open a dialogue that gives those trying to help more power to take back our community as well as our kids. Losing our kids to gang violence is an uphill battle in Compton and every other affected urban community.

Through the history we plan to explore that shows the "birth" of gangs and gangbanging, our goal is to shed new light on ways we can create the villages they need so they don't turn to gangs.

A Note from my collaborator, Jenn Marie:

We believe Tupac had something to say, and that his message is relevant for people today. We want to honor his legacy by telling his story from the viewpoint of those who knew him. We want to give a community closure and expose the truth. Help this story reach the world by supporting our efforts. If you’re blessed, share your blessings and we'll do the legwork. Together we can right this wrong.
