The mission of the OIAPA is to encourage the involvement of African women in politics. Thus, OIAPA organizes training in several African countries. As of 2019 the OIAPA has organized 2 trainings sessions in Tunisia and Cameroon. In 2018, The OIAPA was awarded the special consultative status of the United Nations.
