Hey y'all, and welcome!

About me:
My name is Addie and I am a sustainable living enthusiast, writer, and influencer. I have written a sustainable lifestyle blog called Old World New for nearly 7 years now as a result of discovering and minoring in sustainability in college. I even worked in my university's Office for Sustainability. Once I finally learned about being green, there was no way I could turn back. It's what I'm most passionate about. Sustainability somehow eclipsed my love for historic architecture (what I was majoring in when I first learned about sustainability) and made it's way into the foreground of my life. It is what I am now shaping my career and life work around.

Here's another fact about me - I am a woman of color. Who I am isn't the "norm" that people picture when they hear the word "sustainability." Hippies and upper class white women are usually who people think of first. Many people also assume that sustainable living isn't for them, personally, or that it is not attainable in their lifestyle, if they don't match those stereotypical descriptions of people who are "supposed" to care about sustainability.

I'm here to tell you that sustainable living is for everyone. And, most importantly:

"Everything can be done sustainably."

That's my quote that I like to share with folks to remind them the truth of the matter. While there are sustainable solutions to discover for every aspect in our lives, we must remember that our sustainable journey takes TIME. You won't evolve into a super sustainable being overnight.

Another truth is that our thoughtless actions are rapidly hurting the earth, which in turn will harm us and future generations of humans and all other species.

How are we unconsciously unsustainable?
What are those thoughtless actions? Well, it's the little things.
• Accepting and regularly using single use plastic products.
• Not ever considering where trash really goes, because most things never actually go "away."
• Living as if everything is in a never-ending supply.
• Not utilizing our voting power, whether it be voting with our dollars when we're shopping, or voting in elections to show that we care about the laws being made regarding the Earth.

It's time to be eco-conscious.
Becoming conscious of your daily life habits and how they directly affect the quality of the entire Earth's environment sounds extremely daunting, trust me, I know. But it doesn't have to be. Join me on all of my platforms and here on Patreon for guidance and real conversations on just how to make sustainable living and being eco-friendly something that is part of your everyday life.

A note about the tiers:
I love the color green. It is my favorite color because of how trees and grass and all of the green plants make me feel pure joy when I am surrounded by them. My love for being surrounded by nature intertwines with my love for the protecting the planet very effortlessly.

Each tier is represented by something that has to do with a tree. Each stage/tier is important, none are any less or more important than the next. They all help add to the beauty of the world, and no matter which tier you choose to support me and my work, it all matters.

Thank you!
Your support is very greatly appreciated.
You're amazing for wanting to make lifestyle changes that will positively impact the environment.
Let's make this world a more sustainable place.
