This is a major step and means I can start looking into investing in more instruments like hybrids banjolins, tenor guitar, uke bass ... for my covers

Who am I and what do I do ?

Ollie LongZ / BanjoGuyOllie ... I recently decided that my calling in life was to create music videos of retro video games musics ... on the banjo. Yep, banjo!

I have a few videos done already , some Casltevania, Turrican, Tetris, Zelda, Wonderboy3, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VII, Game of Thrones (of yes!) and a few more almost done, twice as many in progress and a waiting list that just doesn't want to get smaller...
At the moment I aim to do two videos per month.

Why Patreon ?

The videos are free so why use crowdfunding  ...  ? Well, my biggest problem is equipment cost really.

Clearly what I am using now is good enough for my purpose, but with your support, in addition to the motivational boost it generates, will allow me to renew and invest in proper equipment such as:
  • More recording equipment. When I started making these videos I only had my phone to film with. It was ok and worked for a while but patreon allowed me to purchase a better camera. While it's drastic improvement I still want to get more equipment so I can shoot from multiple angles at once and offer you awesome quality videos and original editing.
  • A computer. I use an old macbook and it is having trouble with videos and crashes often. I regularly loose work and this limits the length and quality of my videos, not to mention the frequent swearing the neighbours have to endure...
  • A quality mic. I currently record with a borrowed JM27 . It's okay but far from good enough to get good quality sound and not heavily rely on post prod equalization.
  • More strings. When I started the channel I was using a borrowed banjo. After a few month I acquired a Mandolin and this year I was able to purchase I very own custom banjo. I still want to experiment with other instruments, especially hybrid ones like the u-bass or banjo-mandolin .

Everything will be re- invested and will allow me to offer longer better and more frequent content ... along with stock of checkered shirts to cover my gloriously lush chest , and hats & caps to cover my [not so lush] scalp.
