Thanks to all of you who have contributed to On the Wind or 59º North in the past - to be clear, the podcast will always remain free. And - you heard it here first - Weems & Plath have signed on as our 'Presenting Sponsor' for all of 2017 - making it that much easier to create awesome content with some truly inspiring sailors.

I've heard that some of you  want to contribute. So we're making it easier to do so by setting up with Patreon, and adding some special perks for those who help out. That's the gist of it - the more cash money we have coming in, the better the show will be going out. I'll be updating the Patron-only feed with behind-the-scenes photos and stories, audio outtakes, music demos, high-res wallpaper downloads from #isbjornsailing & some of the pro photogs we've had on the show, and more. Read on for more details about the show and where your money actually goes.

About On the Wind
'On the Wind' is the evolution of Andy Schell's '59 North' podcast. The show is, quite simply, long-form conversations with sailors from around the world. 'On the Wind' (formerly called '59 Degrees North') is informal chats with people from around the world of sailing - tall ship captains like Jan Miles, Cape Horners like John Kretschmer, sailing authors like Lin & Larry Pardey, Volvo Ocean Race skippers like Magnus Olsson, yacht designers like German Frers, family cruisers like Sailing Totem, Arctic adventurers like Bob Shepton and even Sir Robin Knox-Johnston himself. Plus the occasional rant on ocean safety or narrative stories about crossing big oceans in small sailboats. Our aim is to define what creates success in the sailing world and figure out how to accomplish dreams on the high seas. New episodes publish weekly on Tuesdays, and are available free on iTunes, Stitcher, the podcast archive here, and are syndicated on SAILfeed.

Goals
19% complete
I have a long list of potential guests to have on the show, some of them big-time names, and some of them BIG-time celebrities, who also happen to sail (like actor Morgan Freeman). But, I'd need to do those interviews in person, which requires hefty travel costs. If we hit this goal, I'll be able to put some real effort into catching the really big fish.
