Opera is very much an artform that is alive and thriving. For those of you who might be skeptical, I invite you to head over to Opera Wire and see just how much is happening.

Since launching in December 2016, OperaWire has provided wide-ranging coverage to companies around the world, both big and small. We have interviewed some of the greatest artists in the business as well as some of the big up and comers both on and off-stage. The truth of the matter is - there is nothing else on the web like it. There are blogs and other newsites, but none offer coverage around the globe, in-depth interviews and reviews, and other kinds of immersive content to help connect with opera's past and look toward its future.

And we are only just getting started. The vision we have for the future is far more expansive. We want OperaWire to be the ultimate opera experience online. Just a peek of our future ideas include a mobile app that will make access to our content far easier (and we have another surprise in store as well). We are developing some video content and series that will allow opera fans a different perspective on the opera world.

Unfortunately, putting together these kinds of projects requires monetary resources, of which OperaWire is limited at the moment. Our current model is dependent on ad revenue, which while beneficial, is also limited to what others can invest. Over the long haul, this is not a great way to grow.

Which is why we are turning to you - our loyal readers. We have seen the numbers. We know that OperaWire is bringing in hundreds of thousands of eyeballs a month to our website.

So how about just $1 a month for $12 a year.

If we can get even half of our monthly readers to make this kind of investment, then OperaWire will be set for quite a long time.

Why Contribute?

The more OperaWire can expand, the better the content the reader will obtain. The more OperaWire can expand, the greater the depth and breadth of content. The more OperaWire can expand, the more we can give spotlights to companies that don't get coverage anywhere else. The more OperaWire expands, the better positioned we will be to help the opera world grow.

At the end of the day, we are all here because we love opera. Help us grow and we in turn promise to do our utmost to help opera grow.

What Your Contribution Does

1. Help us expand our team to include a marketing team, editorial staff, and strengthen our digital team. Not only does this help OperaWire improve its overall content and approach, but we would be providing new work opportunities

2. Help us invest in an app that will provide stronger connectivity for our users through updates as well as a major surprise we have in the works.

3. Expanding our coverage internationally. With your help, we would be able to bring on more freelance writers to provide consistent coverage to all opera companies around the world.

4. Minimize our reliance on ads. No one wants to be sold. We just want to be entertained. And with your contribution, we can minimize our current reliance on ads as a source of revenue.

Thank you!

We want to thank all of our readers and patrons and look forward to your feedback and contributions in hopes of making OperaWire a destination for those that love this art form as much as we do.
