Working hard in Arkansas to be an independent voice for accountability and transparency in public education. Using the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act to search through public documents that add perspective and clarity to the narratives of "crisis," "choice," and "failure." Advocating for every child's right to the best education we can offer, free of cost, and without undercutting one child to serve another. Supporting teachers as professionals, as humans, and as organized labor.

Tiers
Keeping the Blog Alive
$1 or more per month

Currently publishing at medium.com/orchestrating-change. Medium charges $5/month to keep the blog online, so five patrons at $1 apiece would offset the cost for maintaining the articles "live" at their current address. Care to share?

Coffee!!!
$5 or more per month

Often, teachers and parents share their stories over coffee. Want to chip in? Help fund these meetings with the price of a tasty treat each month. Listening to stakeholders always goes better with coffee!

Child Care <3
$10 or more per month

Researching and writing these stories requires total focus. I haven't had a "day job" since I resigned from teaching at a charter school in 2017. I'm a full-time mom, with a toddler and two elementary-aged boys. Every time I want to research or write, I have to plan care for the kids. Contributing $10 is a gift of a FULL HOUR of babysitting, allowing me to focus completely on this project. Really, that's a steal at any price!

Activist in Solidarity
$25 or more per month

Help spread the message -- not just with research-based articles, but also in real life. Patrons at this tier will receive five pieces of "flair" (buttons advocating for public education policy change) to share with their families & friends.

Legal Advice
$50 or more per month

Every now and then, some public schools and agencies try to keep certain public documents to themselves. When that happens, the lawyers get involved. First, we send a strongly-worded letter. Occasionally, the letters turn into lawsuits. It's not insanely expensive, but there is a filing fee, and lawyers need to be paid for their work. This is the most expensive part of the blog, but it's essential to write from documented, primary sources. Can you help?
