We have had a lot of feedback, both positive and negative, about our transition from our Parcast Network page on Patreon to the individual show pages on Patreon.
We are so glad that so many of you are excited about these changes, but we apologize to those who are disappointed. We did not take into consideration just how many of our listeners tune in to all or most of our shows.
Because of your feedback, we will continue the Parcast Network Page for $10 a month. This will continue to allow access to all of our shows, ad-free. We are also going to continue with the new pages for our individual shows (Serial Killers, Unsolved Murders, Cults, Historical Figures, Haunted Places), so if you prefer to support one show instead of the whole network, you can for $6 a month. You will get access to ad-free episodes to the show (s) you choose to support.
We are incredibly appreciative for all of the feedback. We are always open to hearing from our fans, because we couldn't do this without you and you come first.
Thank You!Thank you. Yes, you. If you’re on this page, you’re most likely a Parcast listener. And if you aren’t, well, maybe you’re about to be. Parcast would not be here if it weren’t for our wonderful listeners. You’ve been a huge part of our launch and growth, and we consider you part of the Parcast family. You are the most important part of what we do, and we can’t express how amazing you all have been to us. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
Parcast in a NutshellParcast is a production house and network that brings you podcasts like Unsolved Murders: True Crime Stories and Serial Killers. Unlike other podcasts produced by one or two creatives, Parcast is a team of over 40 people, including screenwriters, actors and sound designers currently producing three new episodes per week. The team works together to produce podcasts with everything done in-house, similar to the way the classic movie studio system produced great films. In the last 30 days we’ve had over 1.5 million listens. In the last seven months, we have had over 10 million listens. And last year, Remarkable Lives. Tragic Deaths. was named one of iTunes best debuts of 2016. None of this would be possible without YOU, our listeners. So thank you!
Showing as Much as TellingPodcasting is among the most intimate forms of media. It’s you, your headphones and your host. When podcasting strays from the traditional host format and puts you inside a story, showing you scenes and events, it becomes even more intimate. Through storytelling podcasts, listeners continually form their own pictures of the story and in that way, our listeners’ imaginations are part of the production. We put a premium on providing entertainment just as much as well-researched information.
Father & Son TeamOur CEO/President, Max, grew up in a radio household. He inherited his passion for audio and storytelling from his dad, Ron. So, immediately upon dreaming up the idea that would become Parcast, he recruited Ron out of retirement to help consult and make his dreams a reality. Their relationship has had a profound impact on the whole Parcast team. Together they have built a culture of creativity and respect.
Why We’re Asking You for MoneyWe currently produce 3 weekly shows, and plan to release 2 to 3 brand new podcast series in 2017. Our goal is to put our listeners first, and improve with every episode. However, each episode costs thousands of dollars to produce. Why? Every episode is written, acted, and sound designed by trained professionals. A few other costs include the recording studio, equipment and online hosting. Producing podcasts is an uphill battle—like the Wild West, the podcast space changes daily, and we strive to stay independent so we can create shows that are fresh and original. In order to continue releasing episodes weekly, we need stability. You’ve probably heard our ads, and we love our advertisers, but unfortunately, in the podcast space, ads aren’t consistent. Our listeners, however, are. Hundreds of thousands of you tune in every week, and we’d love to continue to produce high quality podcasts for you for a long time to come.
And if you can’t afford to give but still want to help, you can write a nice review, give our shows 5 star ratings on iTunes or your favorite podcast directory, or share the podcasts with your friends, all of which help out tremendously!
Thank you again for all of your support!
