Hello, everybody!

I’m Joe Parlock, and for the last three years I’ve been making games-related stuff for a variety of sites. I was the managing editor of IndieHaven.com, associate editor, and later Hardware Editor, for Destructoid.com, and now I’m the co-founder and co-Editor in Chief of LetsPlayVideoGames.com.

I’ve also done plenty of not-writing stuff. You most likely know me from my co-hosting of the Let’s Play Video Games Podcast, and its predecessor the Destructoid UK Podcast. I’m also co-host of Truckin’ With Laura and Joe, a YouTube series with my fellow LPVG EIC Laura Kate Date. I also have a YouTube channel and a Twitch channel that are ripe for making fantastic use of.

That’s a lot of stuff, but it’s only now that the time has come: the time to go… FULL TIME. Up to now I’ve been precariously balancing my studies with my games stuff, but I’m now ready to push further forwards and come (back) to Patreon to (hopefully) be able to do this a whole lot more.

Why Patreon?
Flexibility, mainly. I like to do a wide spread of things, from the more mundane things like reviews to more out-there things like “Joe Parlock’s Orc Boyfriends” and “Clifford the Big Red Dog is a Titan”. And they were made when I didn’t have a whole lot of time, which I do now. If I pursued a full-time position at a games site, the chances are pretty high that I’d not have that creative flexibility and freedom to do side-projects or the slightly more bizarre features I love doing. I’d much rather work with the people who like the variety of content I do, so I can do more of it.

What Can We Expect From You?
  • Written content. Most often on LetsPlayVideoGames.com, but elsewhere too. I’ve even set up JoeParlock.com for not-necessarily-games stuff! You’ll always be kept up to date through social media and/or Patreon about stuff I do.
  • Video content. YouTube series and Twitch.tv streams multiple times a week.
  • Podcasts. I’ve got ideas for more podcasts I’d love to get going.
  • More stuff. Patreon = freedom to make whatever sort of stuff I want and you like.
Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you support me!

Joe's Animal Corner

At this amount I'm making enough on games-media stuff to branch out. One heavily requested thing has been Joe's Animal Corner, a video series where I talk about the animals I like (and there are a lot of them) and what makes them so interesting to me!
