Welcome to Pass The Mic! I'm Colleen, and in 2018 I launched my own Minneapolis-based blog dedicated to women, trans, and non-binary folks in music. Pass The Mic has covered concert reviews, conversations, and playlists with musicians and music industry professionals like Scrunchies, Lala Lala, Gully Boys, and Slingshot Dakota — and now we're starting a podcast!

On the Pass The Mic podcast we'll share conversations with women and GNC folks about music and the music business, and we'll also talk about the new music that is inspiring us! Pass The Mic was founded with two main goals: to highlight the work of marginalized artists/industry professionals, and to give them agency in constructing their own stories — and the Pass The Mic podcast is born out of these same ideas: letting our guests control their own stories and amplifying the voices that are making the music scene a more positive and inclusive space for all.

But we can't make any of this happen without your help! Here are some of the things that our Patreon contributions will support:
  • Producing episodes of the Pass The Mic podcast
  • Hiring a graphic designer to create artwork for Pass The Mic's podcast and social media pages
  • Hiring contributors to write articles and shoot photos for the blog
  • Maintaining our website
  • Buying equipment like microphones and editing software
