Milestone Goals
Better sound!
I've wanted to buy a better mic and a pop filter and all that jazz for some time… but I am cheap, and microphones are not. But with a lil' help from y'all, I'll get a better microphone, and you'll get better sound. Everybody's happy. Especially your ear holes.
Podcasts from the Archives!
I've been podcasting for a while, but I've been writing for a lot longer. Once a month, in addition to the regular podcasts, I'll record a podcast version of an old essay on the patron podcast feed. Maybe it'll be from the college years. Maybe even from the high school years! What? This is madness.

Who are you?
I’m Pat Rafferty. Every week I write a funny essay on my website and then I record myself reading that essay into a microphone. The internet is a strange place.
Where am I?
This is Patreon, a crowdfunding platform for independent artists.
So it’s like Kickstarter?
Sort of. On Kickstarter, folks pledge a bunch of money up front so other folks can make something. Here on Patreon, folks pledge small amounts of money for a steady stream of smaller works.
What are you scheming, Rafferty?
Nothing, I swear. I use Patreon to support other people whose work I enjoy; so I figured why not let other people support me if they'd like.
So now what?
That's up to you. You can go back to watching cat videos on YouTube, or, if you'd like to contribute, choose a pledge level below. Any pledge, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. If you're on the fence, might I recommend listening to some of my podcasts? That will give you a better idea of what you're getting yourself into.
