======

Hey there! My name is Patric.

I've been a game developer for over two years, making free, bite-size games in my spare time. I'm also the director and lead designer of Moebial Studios, a small but talented team currently working on our first title, called Aquamarine. Some of my games have been featured by websites like Kotaku, PC Gamer, and Rock Paper Shotgun (twice).

I make games as a form of self-expression and to further push the boundaries of storytelling and play. I started this Patreon for two main reasons: To build the support necessary to devote myself to this incredible art form, and to bring people into the development and decision making process of my games.

Together, let's imagine some amazing games and make them a reality.

======

My current project...

Aquamarine

Aquamarine is a story-driven exploration game in a hand-drawn alien ocean, combining roguelike mechanics with elements of survival and adventure games. Though not a solo game, this project will be my only focus for a while. I'll be sharing updates, previewing early demos, and asking for feedback through Patreon. Your subscriptions will support Moebial Studios—which is myself and a few other artists (illustrators, animators, musicians)—as we bring this vibrant and detailed story to life.

======

My future projects...

With loads of ideas for new games, I want to include all of my supporters in helping me decide what comes next. Patreon isn't just for sharing my finished work, but also where we will exchange ideas on games I'm making. Through feedback, voting, playtesting, and more, we'll work together to choose the direction of each project.

======

Why join me on Patreon?

As someone who has worked in writing and music for many years, I know the difficulties of creative pursuits. Without a supportive community to share work and ideas with, it's all too easy to lose inspiration. Joining me on Patreon is an invaluable show of support that will feed my creativity, regardless of the amount you give. And of course I want to make your contribution as worthwhile as possible.

My patrons will first and foremost be invited to become a part of my development process. Play early builds of a game, give feedback on art styles and mechanics, share ideas you have for a current project, suggest something new for me to try, and more. Supporting my Patreon makes you an integral part of making my games a reality.

======

My past projects...

Blank Bit

This quirky high-score platformer came about from GitHub's Game Off game jam, the theme of which was "hybrid." I decided to marry the mechanics of endless jumpers and card games into a glitchy, twitchy vertical platformer that requires snappy reflexes and moment-to-moment decision making. In December 2018, Blank Bit's original prototype was named a "Staff Pick" by GitHub, and I finished developing it in April 2019. The full game—complete with online global leaderboard, three levels of increasing difficulty, and a final boss encounter—is free to download here.

BAD VIBES

BAD VIBES hearkens back to the heyday of PC shooters like Wolfenstein 3D, Hexen, and other classics. My twist here was to do something that didn't involve guns and incorporated some high-score mechanics, including a global leaderboard for the top 20 players. BAD VIBES has been my most popular game to date, with nearly 3K downloads and multiple features written by major gaming press.

Pendulum

My first "finished" game might also be the strangest I've done so far. It's a 2.5D fighting/brawler-style boss rush prototype, which uses a unique leveling system and roguelite elements. The core concept is about adapting and growing through failure, an idea that still interests me. In it's current state, however, Pendulum isn't as strong as it could be. One day, perhaps with the help of this Patreon, I'll be able to fully realize this game.

possession

My second "finished" game was mostly a personal experiment, and I can't say I'm happy with it. I tried my hand at making a fully 3D game that presents a mystery through environmental puzzles. possession was made for a Halloween game jam, so its spooky nature is out of the ordinary for me. I won't develop this game any further, but I still think it's good to share work I don't necessarily love.

Reaching $100 a month will be a huge motivator. Just that much more income will make a big difference for me across the board. I'll start posting weekly devlogs, either video or audio, that are available to all patrons.
