Hey, look, Monday's comic, eight minutes early.... Actually, I should be able to post Wednesday's comic on Tuesday for a patrons-only preview, if all goes well with the inking.

With fixed Felix hair and everything. In the Colosseum, which is in the process of being built even as Damon is falling out of a boat, the number over the forty-ninth entrance is written as XXXXVIIII. Some extras to come later today (probably very late--it's going to be a busy day...). There may be a lot of comics in April (fingers crossed and knock various pieces of wood), so remember that you can cap your monthly pledges :)

The next comic will be a "row 2" to this one. Expect it on Sunday, though I might get it online here before Saturday evening.

Oh, right, the rest of the family. When I post row two (planned for Wednesday evening), I'll finish inking that last panel too.

Domitian's astrological chart indicated that he would die in the noon hour, and probably at a particular noon. Knowing that all he had to do was stay protected by trusted guards for an hour each day made him fearless...until that particular noon seemed to be coming close. He began to test ways of defying fate—by trying to change other people's predicted causes of death by killing them himself. But that's a story for a later time. Right now, he's pretty proud of himself. There's no evidence that he and his family were within view of Vesuvius when it erupted, but there's evidence they visited Herculaneum, and there were plenty of other luminaries in the area at the time. Anyway, our Domitian has a habit of appearing places where everyone says he is not.

Accounting for multi-row comics over the years and other oddities, this week's set of comics counts as number 500. I'm hoping to post a row 2 to this comic tomorrow to make up for missing Friday.

Well, that took unexpectedly long. I like shouty guy. I think he's going to get a recurring role. Next up: a Sunday colour comic.
