BUILDING BRIDGES NOT WALLS
Given my years of organizing, marching, teaching and preaching I have found myself in a unique position to have the ability to connect many great organizations and efforts who do amazing human rights work

Your support of my work will give me the ability to expand work that I am doing and continue to explore other opportunities

Current efforts include:

Immigration Rights

Providing workshops and field trips to the Tijuana Border working with groups such as deported veterans, Dreamers Moms, Al Otro Lado, Border Angels and others.

Monthly Border Tours: these are one day tours to Tijuana to meet with organizations and an updated review of how to support the historic efforts being made by these organizations..

Judicial Reform

Working with gang and other peace organizations to promote judicial reform at all levels ..Barrios Unidos, Homie Unidos, Death Penalty Repeal organizations and other reform organizations.

Environmental Justice

This includes educational actions to support the NEW GREEN DEAL outreach efforts.
A work with our Family Farms Coalition in Oregon and others who continue to educate and change policy regarding toxic poisons used on the farms.

Developing Bilingual Human Rights Materials
: there is a need for more information material in Spanish regarding the bridges that need to build built between human rights movements.

WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT THIS WORK
Most of us who believe in progressive human rights work do not have the time or flexibility to do the work that is needed. And we want to support efforts that will make a difference.

Those who know me know that I have a strong record of standing for justice and working for freedom even if at times I put my own safety at risk. And along the way I have mentored many individuals and organizations.

Some of the organizations which I founded or helped to found were:
a. Homies Unidos: 1996 El Salvador and Los Angeles
b. Dicho y Hecho :1970 lettuce strike in Center Colorado
c. Cesar E. Chavez Foundation: 1994 La Paz California
d. The Latino Equity Initiative: 2010 Seattle Washington
e. Our Family Farms Coaliton: 2014 Jackson County, Oregon
f. Patroncito Publishing Border Tours: 2019 Southern California

This is just a short list to give you a sense of the work that has been done and that you would be supporting by becoming a contributor. There are easy and different levels of participation and you can invite others to support this work.

This is a good community organizing model which I used in 1971 while on strike in the lettuce to form the AHORA newspaper which was our medial model for letting our supporters know of our work, our needs and struggle.

I am inviting you to join me in this journey to dream and do the impossible.
