Hello! My name is Paul Holland, and I’m an indie author with a love for adventure. I hope you’ll consider supporting my work!

My dream is to be able quit my day job and write fiction for a living. With your help, that might one day be a possibility!

QUICK LINKS:
Penny the Brave - my debut novel.
Rainbow Six: Bloodlines - a complete fan fiction novel.
My Instagram - where the majority of my readers are.

WHAT ARE YOU OFFERING SUPPORTERS?

In one word: adventure. In a few more words: good times for gamers and readers alike, starting with Rainbow Six: Siege and Minecraft:

Per month, I am offering:
  1. Access to a Patrons-only channel on my Discord server
  2. Access to all of my published works, including Penny the Brave, my debut novel, and its sequel, Winter’s Wake.

SWEET. TELL US MORE.

An Eislian’s Tale - an original low-fantasy series set in the World of Eisley. The first book, Penny the Brave, was released in 2016. I am currently writing its sequel, Winter’s Wake.

World of Eisley -
a fictional world roughly equivalent to our own Dark Ages. The land of Eisley stands on thousands of years of history filled with war, drama, and adventure. It is the stage of my debut novel, as well as future works of mine. I hope to bring the World of Eisley to readers around the globe.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with two VO (voiceover) artists on trailers for different stories:

“WESTHAVEN” Trailer
voiced by Cassandra Nuss

“WESTHAVEN: Episode 1” Intro
voiced by Samuel Hurley

“PENNY THE BRAVE” trailer
voiced by Samuel Hurley

I would love to one day run a World of Eisley podcast, and raise the funds to produce an audiobook/narrated version(s) of my stories!

Ethovir: A Minecraft Realm - play in a Survival Realm exclusively available to only Patreon supporters! A base of operations called The Keep has been established in the land of Ethovir, and it’s up to explorers like you to use it as a foothold and explore the world!

Your in-game character will receive monthly gifts (supplies, items, materials, etc) based on your Patreon support tier, locked away in an in-game vault accessible by nobody else but you!

NOTE: The Realm is supported on Minecraft Bedrock Edition - currently it is cross-platform between Windows 10 (PC & Mobile), Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Gear VR and Fire TV. It is likely that cross-platform support will become available for PS4 gamers in the future.

WHY PATREON?

Bills. Medical bills, specifically. I had heart surgery in 2016 and my lovely wife has an autoimmune disease that has no cure.

I also need to raise an estimated $2k to self-publish my second original novel, An Eislian’s Tale: Winter’s Wake, the sequel to An Eislian’s Tale: Penny the Brave.

I’d love enough to earn money doing what I love: writing and gaming, versus getting a second job. I’ve done two jobs before, and I’d rather not do it again... if possible.

WHY SUPPORT YOU?

I'll make it worth your while. I was born to be a storyteller, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

If there is one thing in this life that I am confident about, it is the ability to tell a good story. It should not get more complicated than that.

WHO ARE YOU, PAUL?

I'm a 32 year old man who would like long walks on the beach if he lived near one. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and I work full time at a warehouse. I also write full time outside of my day job.

Almost three decades ago, I stayed home sick from kindergarten class. I took out some paper, snagged a pencil, and began writing my autobiography a story about dinosaurs.

I wrote about a Tyrannosaurus Rex that lived near a pond. He was very tall and had sharp teeth.

Look: that's as far as I got, but 'twas that day I knew that I wanted to be an author. To pen a tale that can take someone away from pain, inspire others, or simply plunge someone into an unforgettable world became my life's dream. My dream became a reality when I finished my first novel in 2016.

I reached out to publishing houses and literary agents. I was certain that Penny the Brave would be the next New York Times Bestseller. Boy, how the delusional can fall. Impatient me decided to self-publish, and it was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life - one I wish to relive!

That's why I'm here. I believe Patreon is the perfect platform for what I want to do: write books for folks who appreciate adventure!

YOU CALL YOURSELF A WRITER!?

I'm an independent author. I released my debut novel An Eislian's Tale: Penny the Brave in 2016. In addition to working on the sequel, I've spent the last few years working on building an audience by writing fan fiction based on Rainbow Six: Siege - a game founded on the Tom Clancy novel Rainbow Six.

I've finished an entire fan fiction novel called Rainbow Six: Bloodlines, which has helped me build an audience of over 9,000 readers on Instagram, where I released chapters episodically. During that time I was writing a second fan fiction story with simultaneous releases, on top of quietly working on the sequel to my first novel.

Writing fan fiction - in my case, work based off Rainbow Six: Siege - has been one of the most rewarding undertakings of my life. It's allowed me to work with talented illustrators around the world, has put me in touch with Ubisoft (the game's developers), and even earned me a trip to PAX West 2018 in Seattle in September... a once in a life time experience.

It started as flash fiction pieces, and became a hobby after a long hiatus from writing. When I saw the amazing positive feedback, I wrote longer stories.

One day one of my storylines morphed into something much larger, and Rainbow Six: Bloodlines was born. It became an epic novel and helped me build an amazing community online. 50 chapters later, the book concluded with overwhelming positive reviews and support from readers.

Not only has writing fan fiction improved my craft tremendously, it's helped me fall back in love with writing after straying from the Storyteller's Path for a few years. I couldn't have done it without my wonderful readers.

THAT’S SO BEAUTIFUL!

It kinda is... isn't it? I'm not crying! You are!

Thank you for considering supporting my work. I hope you'll join me for the adventures to come.

Thank you so much for your time, truly.

Sincerely,
Paul Holland
