Hi, my name is Paul Moyse, I'm an artist specialising in caricature. I've been drawing caricatures since I was about 10 years old, when I was inspired by the work of ITV's Spitting Image, and by the cartoons of Kevin 'KAL' Kallaugher in the Economist. To see some of my previous works, go to www.paulmoyse.com or check out my facebook and instagram accounts.

Who I might be painting...

I'm often inspired by the things I watch, read and listen to, so you might see some stars of comedy film and TV, especially satire. I'm a big fan of Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror' and the genius of Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton's 'Inside No. 9' series (seriously, check them out, best thing on TV anywhere!). Laurel and Hardy are also a constant source of inspiration where comedy is concerned.

I also love listening to music while I paint, so I would love to spend some time on a few caricature tributes of some of my favourite musicians. Books and authors are also a big part of my life.

Basically, I will want to paint anyone who has acted in, written, directed or been instrumental in creating a classic work of literature, cinema or music that has had a profound effect on my life.

By subscribing to my Patreon, not only will you be helping to fund more paintings, you'll be able to stay up-to-date with every new piece I'm making, as well as get exclusive access to behind the scenes work-in-progress and early access to finished works. I'll share with you my full-resolution work in progress files, as well as regular (sometimes daily) timelapse videos on each paintings progress. Check out the reward tiers all the benefits.

Haven't heard of Patreon? It's a way for artists to make a living doing the art you want to see. It also gives them a regular wage- rather than rely on commissions- and it's a way for fans to express their appreciation for the artists they admire, whilst at the same time getting access to their studios and lives.

I work both digitally using Photoshop, and in oils painting onto gessoed boards. I generally render to a high standard, but I also love to see brushstrokes. I hope you'll join me on my journey exploring both.
