Paws of the North Rescue

is creating assisting northern communities with dog rescue & wellness

per month

Our mission is to assist isolated northern communities with animal care through rehoming dogs in need, supplies & food, wellness, spay & neuter clinics and more.

These communities – Attawapiskat, Moosonee, Kashechewan, Moose Factory , among others; are remote and isolated. Supplies and products are limited and are costly when incomes are very low. Many struggle daily to feed their human families let alone their furry family members. Veterinary care is non-existent without the help of rescues and voluntary vets and team. Sending supplies alone can be difficult as roads closed, and flights depend on weather. Over population, disease and illness, starvation and death overcome the dogs of these communities, and for this we are dedicated to helping. With the help of donations we are able to get supplies up to these communities.

Paws of the North is a foster based rescue, so our dogs live in homes from the time they come into our care. This allows them to start to adapt and learn before finding their forever home, as some have never experienced stairs, being inside or even touched. Our special team of foster families play a crucial role in these dogs lives, and we couldn’t save all that we do without their assistance.
