Ah, the trials and tribulations (and expenses) of being an independent scholar! I've been blogging and tweeting on the subject of Hadrian's Wall (and the Roman army more generally) since 2013, but I've been walking the Wall, photographing it (all of it, not just that tree), and even recording the soundscapes since 2005. I was also the first person to map the Wall in detail online using Google Earth (as somebody at English Heritage/HIstoric England once reminded me!). Nearly all of it has been self-funded. Writing, photographing, and recording with a Creative Commons licence, I have decided it is time to become a little more ambitious. However, my revamp of the Per LIneam Valli atlas of Hadrian's Wall is incurring additional server costs. If you like what I do, and want me to carry on doing it (and even launching a few new projects), this is your chance to support me, in which case, thank you; if you don't, well, I hope you enjoy what I produce anyway.

Help fund my server costs and sharpen my digital pencils, just because you can so easily. Yes, it's that basic, but it matters when you realise you have run out of webspace and need to upgrade your package.
