About Dinner Table Don'ts published at http://pfthurley.substack.com
Dinner Table Don’ts is a (bi)weekly curation of News, Commentary and Analysis from Peter Thurley. Named after his first blog started while in university, Dinner Table Don’ts is a conversation about all the topics you were told to keep away from the dinner table. Every day I learn new things, and I love to share this knowledge with others through reading, writing and political commentary.I have been repeatedly told how much people appreciate my Facebook posts. This continues to baffle me, but every time there is a lull in my output, people ask me when I'll get back to it again. I've also been told that it's good to give the people what they want. ;)

I’ve had do the hard work of sorting through good information and bad, to try and figure out what works and what doesn't.

Like many chronically ill patients working their way through a new diagnosis and a permanent disability, I've had to learn by trial and error. I've had to do the hard work of sorting through good information and bad, to try and figure out what works and what doesn't. While I have been unable to return to full time employment, my work as a freelance writer and consultant has been featured in national publications like the National Post, the Ottawa Citizen, Postmedia's The Growth Op, CBC Opinion Online and the Waterloo Region Record. My cannabis commentary is also frequently featured on 570 News and CTV Kitchener.

My social, economic and political commentary on Facebook and Twitter, has also been well-received; I find myself hearing from many how valuable they find my contributions, particularly posts relating to Current Affairs, Politics, Philosophy, Religion, Drugs and Sex. So I thought I’d take this show on the road.
Dinner Table Don’ts is an intermittent curation of News, Commentary and Analysis from Peter Thurley.
While the content will grow over time, I intend to start with a regular newsletter, the Dinner Table Digest with wide-ranging content that could include things like:
 • Top 5 Canadian News Stories of the Week
 • Top 5 International News Stories of the week
 • (Bi)Weekly Podcast Review
 • A Curated Glimpse of my Pocket Reading List
 • Long Form Article of the Week
 • Early Drafts of future Publications
 • Monthly Music Features
