Hi, I'm Phinix

Digital art is more than just a hobby to me. It is a journey and a life philosophy, a constant grounding reaffirmation of what positive things technology grants us capable of, and of how fortunate we are to live in a time and place where such things are possible. I have always found the experience itself to be the greatest reward, which is why I have and will forever choose to offer my works freely without any expectations to all who might enjoy them.

I have been making digital content in one form or another for the past two decades. Anything from open source software, photography, YouTube guides and commentaries, Wiki edits, even a Mars image processing server for MOC and THEMIS data. More recently however it has been my efforts writing apps, mods, and GUI addons for various online and single player video games that has received the most attention.

Some of my projects are quite well known. Phinix Natural ENB for Skyrim has consistently remained among the top 10 most endorsed and downloaded graphic overhauls on the Nexus. I have several popular projects for the Elder Scrolls Online including ESO Master Recipe List, Poison Master, and Srendarr. I have also been porting various older projects like Master Trainer, Geomancy, SkyBuilder, and many others to the new 64-bit Skyrim SE.

You can check out all my ESO projects, older Skyrim and Oblivion content, and some new and updated Skyrim SE projects.

Why Patreon?

I only recently set up this page to help with basic expenses which have become difficult to manage since my stroke (yes I am in my thirties... more on that later). Your support would help me to continue doing the things I do, writing and coding and creating fun immersive content, and sharing that content freely with the world. That in turn would help me to maintain a generally healthy and positive outlook on life. It's a win-win!

If you have enjoyed any of my works and just felt like saying "thanks, I support what you do, here's a coffee on me," you could of course still do that with a one-time donation through Paypal, which is always much appreciated. Patreon simply presents a timely and convenient way for people to show support on a more personal, long-term basis with scheduled monthly donations.

I am also hopeful it might help me to connect with people better than I have been able to in the past.

What To Expect

I'll be perfectly honest, I'm not as quick and efficient as I once was. I mentioned the stroke, which is the result of a brain cavernoma (my brain) that was recently discovered after an emergency room visit for a sudden episode of garbled speech, head pain, and serious cognitive dissonance. Basically it is like a mini-aneurism, a tangle of veins likely the result of a poorly healed childhood trauma (according to my neurologists), which tends to balloon out and "leak" when under pressure.

Obviously bleeding in the brain is scary and not good, but with rest and medication (blood pressure and anticonvulsants mainly, and pain killers... and coffee!), I am able to maintain an enjoyable and rewarding lifestyle, mostly thanks to the love and kindness of friends and family. I would say that while the QUANTITY of my work may have diminished somewhat, the quality and care I put into everything I do is stronger than ever.

I want to be clear that setting up a Patreon is in no way a promise to create specific content on demand or on a deadline. Instead, think of pledging as a way to say "I appreciate what you do, thanks!" and know that your support will go a long way to helping me continue doing it.

Meanwhile, I will continue to share all of my creative works as I always have, freely and without expectation to everyone that might enjoy them, both Patreons and non-Patreons alike.

Thank you!

It is people like you that keep me going. Your appreciation inspires me and your support is what allows me to continue to do the things I love.

Feel free to contact me here or on my Twitter.

May the future bring you joy.

Goals
$12 of $200 per month
This would help greatly with basic expenses like heat and power and a connection to the internet.
